Probably the most underrated description of this current PCS (permanent change of station) to Italy.
There have been no less than about 8 panic attacks.
Anybody with me? Between paperwork mistakes, lack of communication, and delays in passports, it has really felt like we are the first people to move to Italy. The irony is that this happens every. single. time. a military family moves. It’s pretty much the best kept secret of military moves. You survive, and there’s rarely any thriving throughout the process.
In the midst of all of this, I finally got my act together and finished the website (3rd iteration of Based in Design’s page) and transitioned to a blog. I’ve never been much of a writer, so you might have to suffer through several photo only posts. But, this is going to be my awesome consolation prize to having to put the business on pause. Bella and I are going to travel some breathtaking places, and I’m going to be able to share some insight into European life, design and renovation.
If you would like to follow along this chaotic journey, I would love to have you join! Make sure to subscribe to email updates to catch every new blog post.
